Printing for the way Charlotte does business.
Charlotte is a banking capital that grew a tech, energy and hospitality scene around it, and it takes a professional card seriously.
Charlotte is the second-largest banking center in the country, home to major bank and energy headquarters, a growing fintech and software sector, motorsports, and a hospitality scene that filled South End and NoDa with breweries and restaurants. Uptown carries the towers; South End and Dilworth carry the offices and the after-work crowd; the university area and the suburbs carry the households.
Print in Charlotte should look polished and calm. Soft touch and matte cards suit the banks and the firms that serve them; gloss and colour suit the breweries and the boutiques. Postcards and door hangers reach fast-growing neighbourhoods where new residents are choosing every service they use.
Where print earns its keep in Charlotte.
Print works differently in different parts of a city. These are the places in Charlotte where a printed piece tends to do the most work, and the piece that usually suits each one.
Uptown. Banking, law and consulting. A card with a premium finish and small, confident type.
South End and Dilworth. Tech offices, breweries and restaurants. Cards for teams and postcards for openings.
NoDa and Plaza Midwood. Venues, studios and independent shops. Flyers, postcards and rack cards with character.
The Charlotte Convention Center and the Spectrum Center. Conferences and events. A retractable banner and a sales sheet.
One clear purpose. The right piece of paper.
What Charlotte tends to order. Charlotte prints like a city closing meetings, not chasing walk-ins. Business cards in soft touch or matte suit the banks, law firms and consultants Uptown, while sales sheets serve the logistics and distribution companies working the interstate corridors and the corporate campuses filling in near University City. Postcards and rack cards carry personality through the brewery and restaurant corridor in South End, NoDa and Plaza Midwood, and door hangers reach the subdivisions still filling in around the city's edges.
Put a readable name first, then one line about what you do, then the one contact route you want people to use. A finish should support that, never make it harder to read.
Compare business card finishes| The moment | What usually works |
|---|---|
| A conference Uptown | A retractable banner, booth cards and a sales sheet |
| A fintech team expanding in South End | Business cards for the group, one file |
| A brewery opening in NoDa | Postcards and rack cards from the first pour |
| A practice in a new Ballantyne development | Rack cards and a door hanger route |
Make the whole set feel like your business.
A Charlotte note. Charlotte rewards a clean, corporate-adjacent look even for small businesses: navy, white, one accent, generous margins. Soft touch is the finish that gets remarked on Uptown. Put a QR code on the back to a booking or a calendar link; it closes meetings here.
A brand does not need every piece to look identical, only a consistent voice, a deliberate palette and type that works at several sizes. Bring your logo, or start from nothing: print product design is $97 and logo design is $250, set up for the product and finish you picked.
See what design costsPlan around the day you need it in hand.
Work backward from the day the materials have to be ready, and leave room for artwork, the proof, production and shipping. Each product page states its own time on press: two to three business days for most cards and postcards once you approve your proof, three to four for soft touch and door hangers, seven to twelve for the XL banner. Shipping sits on top of that. Give us the delivery address and your date when you order, with a receiving name if it is going to a venue, a hotel or a shared office. If the date is fixed, say so and we will tell you whether it is possible before you pay.
Getting print into Charlotte. Uptown's towers generally route deliveries through a building loading dock or a mailroom, so a suite number and a recipient name matter more than the street address. Summer brings regular afternoon thunderstorms, worth planning around for anything meant to stand outdoors. Charlotte's suburbs, Ballantyne, Huntersville, Concord and the airport corridor, are a real drive from Uptown, so a piece meant for one side of the city rarely suits the other, and newer business parks sometimes have receiving details still being sorted out.
Mailing in Charlotte. For postcards by route, Dilworth, Myers Park, Plaza Midwood and Ballantyne are neighbourhoods where a mailer reaches households and gets read.
Give the file your full attention.
Use the artwork guide on the product you picked, because the finished size, the bleed and the safe area are not the same for every format. Upload a PDF, PNG or JPG and the size, bleed and resolution are checked in your browser, then your proof arrives by email and nothing goes to press until you approve it. Read your own details out loud when it lands: names, numbers, web addresses, dates, spelling and which side is which. If there is a QR code, scan it yourself.
