Printing for the way Denver does business.
Denver is tech, energy, outdoor industry and a startup scene at altitude, and it likes print that looks clean enough to bring on a trail.
Denver’s economy is technology, aerospace and energy, a large outdoor and cannabis industry, healthcare, and a downtown that filled in with restaurants and residents. LoDo and RiNo carry the offices, breweries and studios; Cherry Creek carries the boutiques and practices; the suburbs and Boulder up the road carry a lot of the tech.
Denver print is understated and well made. Matte cards, natural palettes, a clear layout. Postcards and flyers do well in the neighbourhoods, where the local coffee shop board still fills events. Trade shows at the convention center and the outdoor industry’s show calendar keep banners and sales sheets busy.
Where print earns its keep in Denver.
Print works differently in different parts of a city. These are the places in Denver where a printed piece tends to do the most work, and the piece that usually suits each one.
LoDo and RiNo. Tech offices, breweries and studios. Cards with a clean look and postcards for openings.
Cherry Creek. Boutiques, galleries and practices. Rack cards and cards with a premium finish.
Capitol Hill, Highlands and Wash Park. Neighbourhood businesses and restaurants. Flyers, postcards and door hangers.
The Colorado Convention Center. Conferences and the outdoor industry’s shows. A retractable banner and a sales sheet.
One clear purpose. The right piece of paper.
What Denver tends to order. Denver's print favours understatement and durability at altitude. Business cards in matte or the uncoated 32pt painted edge suit the startup, outdoor-brand and energy crowd who hand over fewer, better cards. Rack cards work the counter at a brewery, taproom or dispensary, and sales sheets travel with the outdoor industry's trade-show circuit through the convention centre. Postcards reach the walkable historic strips in Wash Park and the Highlands, where a local shop still competes for foot traffic against a chain.
Put a readable name first, then one line about what you do, then the one contact route you want people to use. A finish should support that, never make it harder to read.
Compare business card finishes| The moment | What usually works |
|---|---|
| A show at the Convention Center | A retractable banner, booth cards and a sales sheet |
| A startup in RiNo hiring | Business cards for the team, one file |
| A brewery or taproom opening | Postcards and rack cards from the first pour |
| A practice in Wash Park or Highlands | Rack cards and a neighbourhood postcard drop |
Make the whole set feel like your business.
A Denver note. Denver design is calm: earth tones, a good sans-serif, a matte card. Uncoated 32pt with a painted edge reads as craft here. Keep it simple and put a QR code on the back to the thing that matters, whether that is a trail map or a booking page.
A brand does not need every piece to look identical, only a consistent voice, a deliberate palette and type that works at several sizes. Bring your logo, or start from nothing: print product design is $97 and logo design is $250, set up for the product and finish you picked.
See what design costsPlan around the day you need it in hand.
Work backward from the day the materials have to be ready, and leave room for artwork, the proof, production and shipping. Each product page states its own time on press: two to three business days for most cards and postcards once you approve your proof, three to four for soft touch and door hangers, seven to twelve for the XL banner. Shipping sits on top of that. Give us the delivery address and your date when you order, with a receiving name if it is going to a venue, a hotel or a shared office. If the date is fixed, say so and we will tell you whether it is possible before you pay.
Getting print into Denver. Denver's altitude and dry climate can make paper curl or cling with static more than at sea level, so stock settles best acclimatising indoors before an event rather than off a cold truck. The airport sits a real distance northeast of downtown, so anything routed through the business parks there is not the same trip as LoDo or Cherry Creek. Winter storms occasionally slow the interstates, worth building in slack for anything timed to a show, and a Denver-and-Boulder order should list both addresses.
Mailing in Denver. For postcards by route, Wash Park, Highlands, Park Hill and Capitol Hill are dense neighbourhoods where a mailer reaches households.
Give the file your full attention.
Use the artwork guide on the product you picked, because the finished size, the bleed and the safe area are not the same for every format. Upload a PDF, PNG or JPG and the size, bleed and resolution are checked in your browser, then your proof arrives by email and nothing goes to press until you approve it. Read your own details out loud when it lands: names, numbers, web addresses, dates, spelling and which side is which. If there is a QR code, scan it yourself.
